Vote For Independence!!!
So our little flick Independence has been accepted into the IFC Spirit Awards contest and we need your vote! If we win our film will premiere at the Spirit Awards in Santa Monica CA and broadcast on IFC. I’ve made a step-by-step guide to help you with the voting process. Possibly THE worst online voting process ever. You have to register with the site and fill out some stuff but it shouldn’t take more than a minute. Spread the word and thanks!
You Can’t Handle Independence!
Another team-up with the talented Larry Hankin for the short film Independence. Larry and I talked about submitting something for the Spirit Awards Short Film contest over the Christmas break while I was home in PA. Larry got to work on the writing ASAP and decided to collaborate with screenplay legend and pal Carl Gottlieb. When I got back from PA, Al and I scouted the locations and worked with Larry on the timing of the piece. Once everything was fine-tunned we shot the whole thing in one long day, all over Los Angeles, and topped it off with a well deserved sushi dinner in Little Tokyo. It only took about 3 days to edit the piece because we already had the score, composed by Derock Goodwin. A couple tricks in After Effects and a sound mix by Al and this puppy was ready for submission into the contest. So without further a du… Independence.
